Bulldog boys lose to Mondovi at home

BOYCEVILLE — Last week was not kind to the Boyceville boys’ basketball squad.

They followed up their Valentine’s Day loss to the nearby Hilltoppers with a February 17 home contest against the Mondovi Buffaloes. The Bulldogs dropped the game, 63-37, to head into their final week of conference play with a 5-16 overall record and a 2-11 tally in the Dunn-St. Croix. 

The Bulldogs’ trailed the Buffaloes by only six points at the halftime break, with a score of 23-17, but could only add another 20 points to their score in the second half while watching Mondovi chalk up twice as many points in the same 18 minutes.

Full game results were not available prior to publication, but individual scores were posted online. Bryce Boda earned 15 of the Bulldogs’ total 35 points, Jayson Gonzalez contributed nine, Bryce Larson added five, Brady Nye and Jaden Reismer tied with three each, and Kiel Anderson scored two.

Mondovi’s Avery Hoepner achieved the game’s highest score with 23 points.
