Can a person still be a blessing to others after he has passed from this life? Yes, definitely. This is especially true of Christians. People who have trusted the Lord Jesus as their Savior and have sought to live for Him leave a very precious blessing behind.
It is a blessing of having lived a righteous life, not a perfect life, but a life that has brought glory to God and thus a special witness and blessing to others. King Solomon said, “The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot” (Prov. 1:7). What a contrast! The most precious, important, and meaningful blessing one can leave to his family and others is a faithful witness to the reality of God in his life. It is a witness that will live on long after one has passed from this life. Really, it is a witness to the reality of Jesus Christ in his life, a life that has been dramatically changed by Christ and the truths of His word. When you think about it, there is no better or more important inheritance to leave than the inheritance of a life lived for the glory of God! Such a witness will live on in the lives of loved ones and others for a very long time to come.
