A Word to the Wise – 12-7-2016

by Dr. Walter Olsen

Are there special blessings for those who have come to trust Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior? Yes, there are very many, more than any man could ever enumerate. Consider just a few. “And He shall judge the world in righteousness, He shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness” (Psa. 9:8).

In His appointed time, God will set everything right according to His standard, a standard of genuine holiness and righteousness. Today, it may seem that the ungodly of the world are getting away with such great injustices, especially against Christians. However, this is only a temporary condition. In the day of God’s judgment for those who never repented of their sins and trusted Christ for salvation, there will be the great judgment of God upon all unrighteousness. Indeed, the Bible says, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” (Psa. 9:17). This may seem like a hard truth, but it is the word of God. For the believer, the same Bible states that, “The Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble…for Thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee”(Psa.9:9-10). Thank God for His multitude of blessings!
