MENOMONIE – Members of the Dunn County Farm Bureau held their annual meeting on Tuesday, September 27th at Dean & Sue’s in Menomonie.
As a grassroots organization, it is Farm Bureau’s members on the county level who create and set the policy goals of the state’s leading farm organization. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau is often asked to get involved in issues affecting production agriculture and rural Wisconsin both in Madison and Washington D.C. During the meeting, members discussed a wide range of issues including broadband, animal husbandry and natural resources & the environment. Resolutions passed during the meeting will be forwarded on for consideration by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation’s policy development committee.
Tony Christopherson of Elk Mound and Dale Quilling of Menomonie replaced Jesse Singerhouse and Geri Wolfe on the Board of Directors. Delegates were also elected to attend the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting in December to represent Dunn County Farm Bureau.
In addition to the regular business at the Dunn County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting, Carrie Schaefer received the Dunn County Farm Bureau Service to Agriculture Award in honor of all of the work that her late husband, David, did for agriculture and Dunn County Farm Bureau.
