As we wrap another Rustic Lore Days celebration, we’d like to express our appreciation to the community as a whole for making this year a success.
Thank you to Larry “Leaker” and Cheryl Standaert for being great Grand Marshals! You were so deserving of the honor because of all you do to support our city and various activities. Thanks to our outgoing court, Queen Julie McNamara, Princess Kaylie Krueger and Princess McKenzie Kuehl for representing the city the last year. Congratulations to our new court, Queen Emily Hill, 1st Princess Jenesa Klinger, Princess Bidi Mendez and Princess Elizabeth Wink. We hope you have a memory-packed year ahead of you! To all of the queen candidates, our appreciation for the great job of selling raffle tickets and buttons. And thanks to the people who purchased them! The proceeds from the sale of the tickets is our primary fund raiser, so to have a successful sale year is so important for all events. Thank you to Jim and Janene Meisser and the employees of Hiawatha National Bank for again putting on a great dinner to kick off the weekend.
Thank you to all who volunteered their time by helping with the dances – set-up and tear down, bartending or selling drink tickets. Special thanks to Lance Albrightson of Family Chirocare for allowing us the use of his land and power for the dances.
We feel that we had an awesome parade this year. Thanks to all who volunteered their time throughout the day, helping with the parade. Thanks to Mr. Matt Lamb, the Glenwood City Marching Bands, and also the bands from neighboring communities. You made the parade great.
It takes many hands to pull off a celebration such as ours, and we’ll always welcome more hands! Next year, the All School Reunion will be held on Rustic Lore Days weekend, so we all look forward to welcoming everyone back to a “Hilltopper Celebration!”
