Is the presence and blessing of the Lord really necessary in the living out of our daily lives as Christians? Yes! Unfortunately, many believers live their lives according to their own desires. When that is the case, so much is lost.
We miss so much of what God really wants for our lives. The Bible reminds us, “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman walketh in vain” (Psa. 127:1). Yes, a Christian may live his life without seeking much of the counsel of God, but he will miss the special blessing of God. Also, his life will not be much of a witness and blessing to others. How much better to note the further admonition of God, “Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; and walketh in His ways” (Psa. 128:1). We need the presence and blessing of God in order to live a life that is pleasing to Him and to have our lives really count for God. When a believer fails to study His word and pray for God’s blessing and direction, he fails in every area of life. It is only the blessing and presence of God that makes the believer’s life significant for himself and for God!
