Is there any security against disappointment? In the world we live in, no. There are always disappointments. They may come from people, the weather, relationships, health, or any number of other things.
Disappointments are a normal part of the life we live on earth. Still, there is a place where we will never be disappointed and that is the cross of Jesus Christ. It is in Him who died for our sins that we will never be disappointed. God always keeps His word and He has promised that His word cannot be broken. Indeed, we can take great comfort in God’s promise as stated by David, “For ever, O Lord, The word is settled in heaven” (Psa. 119:89). God never disappoints the one who comes to Him for salvation, for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus said, “All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out” (Jn. 6:37). When we come by faith seeking His forgiveness, we will never be disappointed. For all of eternity, we will be able to rejoice in God’s faithfulness to His word. Even for this life, we have God’s promise as given by Paul, “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19).
