Senior Scams

Baby boomers were raised, for the most part, to be polite, according to the Association of Mature American Citizens.  And now, the Federal Bureau of Investigation says that it’s a trait that can make them vulnerable to scammers.

Seniors are particularly susceptible to telephone cons because the perpetrators of these crimes know “that it is difficult or impossible for these individuals to say ‘no’ or just hang up the telephone,” according to the FBI.  The agency suggests a visit to its Common Fraud Schemes web page at  for tips on how seniors can protect themselves from fraudsters.
