Senator Harsdorf receives Wisconsin Counties Association’s “Outstanding Legislator Award”

State Senator Sheila Harsdorf (R-River Falls) was honored recently by the Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) with a “WCA Outstanding Legislator Award” for her work on behalf of county government during the 2015-2016 Legislative Session.

“As a member of many committees, Senator Harsdorf has been a real supporter of county concerns,” said WCA Executive Director Mark D. O’Connell. “We would like to specifically mention her support of staffing grants and the strip search bill.”

The “WCA Outstanding Legislator Award” is handed out biennially to a select group of legislators who have represented county interests in both the legislature and in their districts.

These legislators have demonstrated leadership for counties on key issues, legislation and the state budget.

O’Connell continued, “Senator Harsdorf understands county matters and has continued to be a tremendous leader on county issues in her role as senator. We are proud to present her with this ‘WCA Outstanding Legislator Award’ and look forward to working with her in the years ahead.”

WCA represents the interests of county government both on the state and federal levels and is located in Madison, Wisconsin. For more information, visit www.wicounties.org
