What is the basis of fellowship with God? Can it be through a form or is it more intimate? Jesus Himself made it clear when he said, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will supp with him, and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20).
Thus, fellowship with God is a personal matter. It begins when we come to Him in faith believing that He died on the cross for our sins and that he was raised again from the dead. We believe in the Biblical teaching that He indeed is the very Son of God. It is on that basis that fellowship with Him is possible. When we have trusted Him as our Savior by faith, we can then begin to have personal fellowship with Him. This is what God desires for us and it is the great privilege of the believer to have such fellowship. Note that the invitation is given by Jesus Himself. He knocks at the door of our hearts, and if we hear His voice by the persuasion of the Holy Spirit, He will come in and reveal Himself to us and extend His fellowship. Fellowship with God does not begin with any kind of a form but by a personal invitation from Him! It is up to each one to respond to His invitation.
