Town of Forest resident reports anti-wind-turbine sign shot

TOWN OF FOREST  —  A Town of Forest resident has reported that his anti-wind-turbine sign has been shot.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department responded to a complaint by Jeffrey Ericson, 2022 270th Street, in the Town of Forest on May 8.

The Tribune Press Reporter obtained a copy of the report on file at the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department.

According to a report by Deputy Marc Sommers, “I was assigned to a damage to property complaint at 2022 270th Street. I spoke with the homeowner, Jeffrey Ericson, who advised that sometime over the past week, someone shot his ‘Anti Wind Turbine’ sign that was set in his front yard. Jeffrey told me that he is unsure whom exactly shot the sign, but assumed it was someone who was supporting the wind turbines. Jeffrey was concerned for the safety of his family. This is all the information I have at this time.”

Ericson sent a letter to the Tribune Press Reporter about the incident alleging that his sign was shot by turbine supporters in a drive-by shooting in the middle of the night with a high caliber weapon.
