Boyceville Dance Team finishes successful season

BOYCEVILLE — The Boyce-ville Dance team recently completed a successful 2015-16 season as it captured a pair of second place trophies and a first place honor for their kick routine.

The squad started their season out strong at the Menomonie Holiday Classic on December 5, 2015. Boyceville performed its kick routine taking home a second place trophy.

The girls continued their strong season by making their way to Prairie Farm, where they performed their kick routine and again scored a second place.

The team worked incredibly hard at practice to make its kick routine even stronger for the next competition. The team headed off to the 2016 Western Conference Competition on January 16 and with perseverance and dedication, Boyceville’s squad was able to win a first place trophy for its kick routine!

The season came to an end January 30th at the Western Regional Competition. Boyce-ville competed in two routines – Pom and Kick. The competition was tough and there were a lot of teams they competed against in both routines. The Bulldogs scored eighth place in Poms out of 12 teams and were seventh in Kick. Unfortunately, the team was not able to qualify for the state competition that was held February 6 in LaCrosse.

“The girls worked hard and did an amazing job at their competitions,” said co-coaches Anne Wold and Kayla Grosz.

This year’s team members were Tia Dryden, Ireland McAbee-Thomas, Abbey Lorenz, Erica Sempf. Shawna Gove, Samantha Merkel, Abbey Litomsky, Alexis Meixner, Peyton Hellmann and Katie Swenson.
