Bulldogs fall to Elmwood/Plum City Wolves

Prior to their win against Glenwood City, the Boyceville Bulldogs had traveled to take on the Elmwood/Plum City Wolves on Tuesday, January 19 where they fell 68-52.

The Bulldogs had a tough first half, as they struggled to put points on the board during the first ten minutes of regulation. Despite scoring just eighteen points in the first half, the Boyceville Bulldogs found themselves only nine points behind the Wolves going into the second half.

Offensive production picked up for the Bulldogs in the second half, with sophomore Bryce Boda being responsible for many of the team’s points. He started the second half off with a clutch shot from the arc, followed by three two-point buckets. He ended the night with a team high of sixteen points.

Additionally, teammate Luke Knudtson had success near and under the basket while senior Hunter Anderson shot well from the arc. They accumulated twelve and thirteen points, respectively.

Unfortunately, their efforts could not match that of their opponents. Particularly, Wolves sophomore, Luke Baier, whom the Bulldogs could not contain and scored a mammoth solo 35 points. He rained down a staggering fifteen two-point field goals, one bucket from the arc and connected on four of his six opportunities at the free throw line.

Though their shooting and defense picked up in the second half, it was not enough to overcome the point deficit and the Boyceville Bulldogs lost by sixteen.
