A Word to the Wise – 1-27-2016

by Dr. Walter Olsen

Is there much difference between the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked? Yes, it the difference between light and darkness.

The Bible says, “...the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Prov. 4:18). Those who have trusted Jesus Christ as Savior have the light of the Bible and the light of the Lord Jesus Himself. Of Jesus we read, “In Him was life; and the life was the light of men” (Jn. 1:4). The light believers have is the light of salvation, knowing they have eternal life, and light of His presence to reveal His way through an otherwise dark world. The way of the wicked, on the other hand, is far different. Of them we read, “The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble” (Prov. 18:19). In reality, those who know not the Lord Jesus as Savior can only walk in spiritual darkness. The world today is a place of dense spiritual darkness, yet anyone who is willing to come to Christ for salvation can walk in the light that only Christ Himself can provide. The differences between the way of the righteous and the wicked is immense!
