Samantha Merkel selected as Rotary Club of Menomonie Youth Volunteer Service Award winner

Boyceville High School senior class member, Samantha Merkel, was selected as the Menomonie Rotary Club Youth Volunteer Service Award winner.  Samantha was recognized by the Rotary Club for her extensive volunteer service and commitment to her community.

Mr. Tim Engel, Social Studies teacher at Boyceville High School, introduced Samantha to the Rotary Club during an awards banquet held in November.  Mr. Engel spoke about Samantha’s volunteerism and her strong commitment to academics.  Samantha has maintained an outstanding grade point average and is a member of the National Honor Society. Samantha is involved in numerous activities Boyceville High School including Science Olympiad, Drama Productions, Dance Team, Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Track and she is a Class Officer. Samantha has earned the title of State Medalist for Science Olympiad and was a National FCCLA Qualifier in the Interpersonal Communications event.  In addition to her school activities and leadership roles, Samantha has also supported her community.  She has been a volunteer for summer Youth Track Camps, led Youth Dance Clinics and has participated in mission trips through her church. Samantha has been a dedicated student, a supportive peer and a true asset to the Boyceville High School community.
