Sunnyside Shamrocks 4-H club meeting
The Sunnyside 4-H Club held it’s monthly meeting and annual banquet at the Glenwood City Community Center on Sunday, October 18th at 5:00 p.m.
The meeting was opened with recognition of our new members, an activity and some good food. The club was recognized for two awards at the county level and received plaques for such. The awards were in the area of 1. Recreation and 2. Health and Saftey. Tim Buttles and Bonnie Walter were also recognized at this meeting for providing ten years of leadership and service to the 4-H club and county. Our Seniors from last year, Hannah and Leslie Ludtke also received plaques for the Graduate Awards at the county level. Jim Buttles received a Florence Jensen award for his great level of leadership skills and Ellen Lindquist received the Helen Holzer award for her leadership abilities at the county level. (She is pictured alone as Jim was ill the night the picture was taken). Shawn and Amanda Millermon were recognized for providing their first year of adult volunteer service to the club. Ellen Lindquist and Riley Berends were recognized for their 5th year of 4-H involvement. Our first year members were recognized for completion of their first year: Lydia Bennett, Abe Draxler, Royal Bignell, Ben Klatt (not pictured) Elijah Millermon, Shalikco Timm, Tessa Wagner and Waylon Wagner. Our Explorers were also recognized for their completion of the Explorer level and they are: Jonas Draxler, Maddie Klatt (not pictured), Aryeanna Lee, Savannah Millermon, Libby Wagner, Ben Wittmer (not pictured) and Chloe Wittmer (not pictured). Our Bronze Clover Award recipients were: Royal Bignell, Lydia Bennett, Abe Draxler, Ben Klatt (not pictured), Elijah Millermon, Savannah Millermon, Shalikco Timm, Tessa Wagner, Waylon Wagner, Chloe Wittmer and Whitney Wittmer. We had a number of members whom were also honored at the county level for proficiency within a project. Libby Wagner was awarded with a Rabbit proficiency award. Mae Buttles received a horse proficiency award. Halle Bignell received a Food Preservation award. Tatum Timm received a Dairy proficiency award. Maddie Klatt received a Beef Proficiency award. Ellen Lindquist received a Clothing Proficiency Award. Jim Buttles received a Swine Proficiency award. Our Outstanding Rookie Award went to Lydia Bennett and our Super 4-Her award went to Aryeanna Lee. Other members of the club were recognized for Club level activities such as the Drama/Skit and 4-H softball.
Our next meeting is scheduled for November 15th, 2015 at the Community Center at 5:00 p.m. And as our new t-shirt says… Come on Over to the Sunnyside and join our 4-H club.
