ST. PAUL, MN – The 10th annual Bremer Bank Meals for Many Campaign raised a record $107,000 this year, surpassing last year’s total by more than $11,000. As part of the campaign, the $2-for-$1 Bremer match up to $30,000 was also met and exceeded.
The campaign supports the efforts of Second Harvest Heartland, Feeding America and a number of neighborhood food shelves to end hunger in local communities. Bremer employees throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin participate in the campaign each year by hosting cookouts, organizing food drives and coordinating a variety of other activities.
“One in 10 people in every community faces hunger daily,” said Greg Hilding, Bremer Bank group president and Second Harvest Heartland board member. “Working families, children, seniors — people in every age group and ethnicity — in rural and urban communities. All can be experiencing hunger at any time.
“At Bremer Bank we are committed to doing what we can to feed the hungry in our region,” Hilding said, “and that’s why this campaign is so important. I’m proud of the amount we were able to raise this year, thanks to our employees, clients and the communities where we live and work.”
Bremer has raised more than $1.3 million for the hungry since launching the Meals for Many Campaign a decade ago.
