Break-ins at GC storage facility solved

GLENWOOD CITY — A few months ago renters of units at a local storage facility in Glenwood City reported that locks on several units had been cut off and some reported items stored inside were missing. Other units had locks cut off, but nothing had been removed.

Police Chief Robert Darwin reported to the City Council Monday evening, June 8th that two people have been arrested and are in jail in connection with these break-ins.

Darwin informed the council that a search warrant was executed on a Knapp residence, where they found items that had been taken from the local storage units. He also said that they found items that had been removed from storage units in other communities. Darwin noted that some of the items had been pawned, but the problem now is trying to identify the owners of the recovered property.
