Social Security turns 80 this year and acting Commissioner Carolyn W. Colvin has announced that the agency plans a variety of celebratory events to mark the occasion. Ms. Colvin said a new Web site has been established that is dedicated to the Social Security Administration’s birthday in August.
The site features trivia, a schedule of events and historical data about Social Security and can be accessed at http://www.ssa.gov/80thanniversary/.
For up-to-date news, information and legislative developments affecting Social Security, the Association of Mature American Citizens has created its own Web site that can be accessed at www.socialsecurityreport.org/.
