Ten honor students at Boyceville High School

BOYCEVILLE — The Boyceville High School class of 2015 has ten honor students.

Lauren Klassen

Lauren is the daughter of David and Joan Klassen.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. Crashing prom in a tux. Greatest night of dancing I’ve had in my 18 years.

• List your favorite high school classes. Art, Choir and Math – great teachers and life lessons.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? Drama (6 years); Science Olympiad (7 years); Art Club (2 years); Mascot (5 years); Visual Arts Classic (4 years); Cross Country (2 years); Track (1 year).

• What are your plans after graduation? BFA Musical Theatre, minor in Political Science at UM-Duluth, currently a waitress at Pizza Hut and involved in summer productions as well as volunteering.

Rachal Anderson

Rachal is the daughter of Cathy and Greg Anderson.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. Going to State for Hockey my junior year. Earning State medals in Science Olympiad.

• List your favorite high school classes. Foods: You can express your creativity; Math/Accounting: It’s fun to figure out where to put numbers and figure out where something went wrong and how to change it.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? Varsity Hockey (4 years); Varsity Softball (4 years); Yearbook Club (2 years); Science Olympiad (2 years); FBLA (1 year); Mission Trips (3 years); Junior Achievement (3 years).

• What are your plans after graduation? I plan to attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Major in Accounting.

Megan Bird

Megan is the daughter of Kevin and Wendy Bird.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. My most memorable moment that happened while I was at Boyceville High School was going to State in dance my senior year. My team was also named Dunn-St. Croix Conference Champions, which was the first time in history that Boyceville has won.

• List your favorite high school classes. Biology and Physiology and Anatomy: I love science classes, especially those that have to do with the human body (medical); Spanish: I love learning new languages; English: I love to read and write.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? Student Council (4 years) (VP); Student Government (3 years) (VP); National Honors Society (2 years); Fall Dance (4 years); Competition Dance (4 years); Science Olympiad (2 years); Drama Club (2 years); Marching Band (4 years); Academic Decathlon (1 year); Menomonie Optimist Club Youth of the Month (September 2014); Teen Count (2 years); Junior Chamber of Commerce (2 years); Youth Choir (4 years); VBS/Sunday School (4 years); Youth Ministry (4 years); Menomonie Thunderhawks Dance Team (2 years); Softball (1 year).

• What are your plans after graduation? I plan to attend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities to pursue a degree in Biology with a goal of becoming a dermatologist.

Logan McAbee-Thomas

Logan is the son of Diane Vig.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. The most memorable moments of high school were the Wisconsin Dells trips for Band.

• List your favorite high school classes. My favorite classes in high school were AP Biology and Anatomy and Physiology because I loved doing lab experiments and I found the lectures very entertaining.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? Football (4 years); Wrestling (4 years); Track (4 years); Band (4 years); Drama (4 Years); Science Olympiad (3 Years).

• What are your plans after graduation? After graduation, I will spend the summer preparing for college. I will be attending the University of Notre Dame and majoring in Forensic Pathology.

Hannah Jerrie

Hannah is the daughter of Scott and Heather Jerrie.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. Getting my foot run over by Lauren’s car; Playing for my brother’s graduation; Discovering new lines to “Down by the Bay” with the band; Playing “Snoopy” in Charlie Brown.

• List your favorite high school classes. Studio Art – free reign in art; Anatomy and Physiology, Sociology – entertaining as well as educational.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? Band (4 years, 7 total); Science Olympiad (4 years, 5 total); Drama (3 years); Quiz Bowl (3 years); Student Council (1 year); Art Club (3 years); VAC (4 years).

• What are your plans after graduation? After graduation, I plan to attend Minneapolis College of Art and Design to major in Illustration.

Kayla Nelson

Kayla is the daughter of Mike and Barb Nelson.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. Putting a pear in Mr. Knudtson’s ceiling and taking it out at the end of the year.

• List your favorite high school classes. AP Environmental: We got to go to Crystal Cave and we learned about nature and animals; Physiology and Anatomy: We got to learn about the body, watch Dr. Oz and do fun labs.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? FFA (9-12); FCCLA (11-12); Honor Roll (9-12); National Honor Society (11-12); Class Secretary (9-12); FFA Treasurer (12); Softball (9-12); Basketball (9-10); FFA Community Service (9-12).

• What are your plans after graduation? I will be working at Safe Haven as a care giver. I am going to CVTC in Eau Claire for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Brooklynn Blaser

Brooklynn is the daughter of Bryan Blaser and Krissy Blaser.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. Junior Prom was one of the most memorable because it was a time that all of my classmates and parents came together and worked to create an unforgettable prom night.

• List your favorite high school classes. My favorite classes were Pys & Anat and AP Environmental because I learned the most about things that are useful in every day life. And science has always been my favorite subject.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? Softball (4 years); Basketball (4 years); Yearbook (1 year); FFA (4 years); FFA Reporter (1 year); National Honor Society (2 years); Honor Roll (4 years).

• What are your plans after graduation? I am going to CVTC for Radiography. I will be working at Safe Haven Residential Hone through the summer to help pay for school.

Alexa Peterson

Alexa is the daughter of Grant and Keri Peterson.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. Playing during Coaches vs. Cancer basketball games, decorating prom, participating in Homecoming, going to FCCLA state for two years.

• List your favorite high school classes. Biology, Physiology and Anatomy: I enjoy learning from Mr. Skrove, he makes lessons interesting and provides hands on learning; Civics and Sociology: I love listening to Mr. Engel’s lectures. He has great stories and relates to us.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? Volleyball (9-12 grade); basketball (9-12 grade); softball (9-12 grade); Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA); (10-12 grade); Student Council (10-12 grade); National Honor Society (11-12 grade); Class Officer (10 grade).

• What are your plans after graduation? I will be attending UW-LaCrosse in the fall for either Physical Therapy or Radiation Therapy.

McKenzie Schultz

McKenzie is the daughter of Richard and Melissa Schultz.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. Most memorable event was playing in Coaches vs. Cancer, attending state volleyball with my team.

• List your favorite high school classes. Math classes – I enjoy numbers and the teacher; Civics and Sociology – learned things that helped me in out of school activities.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? Volleyball (Freshman-senior); basketball (freshman-sophomore); softball (freshmen-junior); FCCLA (sophomore-senior); class officer (freshman-senior); National Honor Society (junior-senior).

• What are your plans after graduation? I plan on having two summer jobs to earn money that I can put towards college. I will be attending Aveda Institute of Minneapolis to get my license in cosmetology.

Nolan Windsor

Nolan is the son of Christopher and Valorie Windsor.

• List the most memorable event that happened while you were in high school. State Science Olympiad my Junior year when we stayed at a hotel, which became lovingly known as “the Roach Motel” for its noteworthy collection of undesirable accompaniments.

• List your favorite high school classes. AP Biology/Physiology and Anatomy: every day is something new and in many situations Mr. Skrove has past experiences that help to relate the subject matter to real world applications. The rigor of the class schedule helps to ensure that the teacher is always teaching and that the students must put forth on honest effort and work hard to achieve good grades.

• What activities were you involved in during high school? Football (freshman, junior, senior); Science Olympiad (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior); Track and Field (freshman, sophomore, senior).

• What are your plans after graduation? After graduation I will be leaving for Missouri for Basic Training in the National Guard. I will return to Wisconsin just in time for the start of second semester at UW River Falls where I plan on getting a major in Biology.
