Red Cedar Speedway gears up for 2015

MENOMONIE — Red Cedar Speedway officials are busy gearing up for the 2015 dirt track racing season as opening night, Friday April 17, 2015 quickly approaches.  Red Cedar Speedway in located at the Dunn County Rec Park in Menomonie, Wisconsin.  Racing action happens every Friday night from mid-April until late August, and then resumes for one last weekend at the end of September for the historical Punky Manor Challenge of Champions.

Weekly, seven classes of cars take to action at the 3/8th mile, semi-banked, clay oval including the Hornets, Pure Stocks, and the WISSOTA Poly Dome Dirt Track Series sanctioned Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Modifieds, and the Late Models.  Each class will compete for track championship points and drivers in the five WISSOTA classes will further wage battle for rookie of the year, state, regional, and national points championships.

June 05 brings the WISSOTA AFCO Race of Champions qualifier and August 13 the USMTS Modified touring series invades along with Midwest Modifieds and Super Stocks on the card.  August 14 is the season championship event and the 36th annual Punky Manor Challenge of Champions rounds out the season on September 25 and 26, 2015.  In total the Red Cedar Speedway has scheduled 22 nights of racing action.

Due to allowing drivers to compete in two very high paying events away from the track regionally, there will be no Late Models on either June 12 or July 31.  July 24 brings the Dunn County Fair with $5.00 track admission to the grandstand, but the Hornets and Pure Stocks will not be performing.
