By Kelsie Hoitomt

CLEAR LAKE — Aside from their game in Boyceville, the Toppers also played a contest in Clear Lake last Tuesday night.

They were victorious against the Lakeland-Central Conference Warriors with the final score at 60-28.

The Toppers had a huge first quarter with 22 points posted against the Warriors’ seven.

They secured a solid lead with 17 additional points scored in the second for a 39-17 lead at the half time break.

Morgan Kadinger was unstoppable with two doubles scored off the bat. Then she was fouled and made both her baskets before driving in two more doubles.

Jen Kopacz backed that up with two triples and then Gabby Peterson, Maya Petersen and Megan Samens each had one basket of their own.

Kopacz hit the inside in the second quarter with three baskets off the glass for six points. Kadinger, Petersen, Samens and Moriah Kuehndorf each made one double and then Jenesa Klinger put up a three.

Out of the break the Warriors played their worst offensive game with just two baskets made for four points.

The Toppers took a bit of a dive as well with 11 points scored, but that was still enough to lead 50-21 going into the fourth quarter.

The game ended with the Toppers putting up ten final points with a double from Klinger, Mikaela Voeltz and Rachel Klatt and two from Samens.

Kopacz led that game in points with 15 from her three triples and three doubles. Kadinger and Samens followed with 12 points each; Kadinger had five doubles and two free throws and Samens had six doubles.

Klinger had her one double and one triple for five. Petersen, Klatt and Kuhendorf each had two doubles. And Voeltz and Peterson each made one for two points.
