19 arrested for participating in cockfighting operation

GLENWOOD CITY — On Saturday, January 24 a little past 1:00 p.m. five St. Croix County deputies, a Wisconsin State Patrolman, a Polk County Sheriff and a Baldwin Police Officer responded to the 1700 block of 315th Street in the Town of Glenwood.

Law Enforcement was contacted in regards to suspicion of an illegal cockfighting ring operating at the above address.

19 people were arrested that day on the property for being spectators to a cockfight. No names had been released at time of publication.

St. Croix County Sheriff, John Shilts stated that there is limited information available at this time due to the fact that the case is still under investigation.

The department is trying to nail down who is responsible for organizing the operation.
