EAU CLAIRE, WI – Cancer patients experiencing hair loss during treatment can receive free wigs and instructions on how to care for them through the Wig Bank at the Shear Inspiration Salon & Spa at Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC). The Wig Bank is dedicated to helping people enhance their self-image and confidence during cancer treatment.
The local chapter of the American Cancer Society donated 80 wigs to CVTC to establish the Wig Bank. Cancer patients from throughout the area are welcome, with wigs being provided on a first-come, first served basis. CVTC’s Cosmetology students in the salon will offer free wig fitting appointments. In addition to receiving a free wig fitting with a cut and style, patients will also learn how to properly clean and care for their wigs.
