EMERALD — This coming weekend, Shotgun Suzie’s in Emerald is hosting its annual Horsin’ Around Days starting Friday, October 3 through Sunday, October 5.
The weekend of festivities will begin on Friday with a children’s hay ride at 5:00 p.m. Then at 6:00 a movie will be shown on the projector screen in the park.
The adult fun will begin at 9:00 that evening with a hay ride that will leave from Shotgun Suzie’s. For those who wish to stay in, Just for Kicks DJ will be playing inside the bar starting at 9:00 as well.
Saturday’s day long events will kick off at noon with a parade down Main Street. As of the beginning of September, there were over 40 units signed up.
Following the parade, there will be a state sanctioned Kiddie Pedal Pull as well as a Battle of the Businesses pull that will take place in front of the old school.
Throughout the afternoon following the parade there will also be a variety of games for kids to play under a tent behind Shotgun Suzie’s.
That evening, the Eggert clan will be putting on a Nut Feed starting at 6:00 and then at 8:00 the Copperhead Creek band will be performing under the tent behind the bar.
Throughout the day, there will be a Chicken Drop contest and a 50/50 drawing with the proceeds from both going back to the town of Emerald.
On Sunday, the weekend will wrap up with a car/tractor show at the park at 11:00 that morning. Then at 12:30, there will be a bean bag tournament and a log saw contest with a chicken dinner available inside the bar.
