Bulldogs finish 4th and 11th at first home invitational

BOYCEVILLE – The Bulldogs’ Cross Country team had their first meet of the season last Thursday, which was on their home course for the Alumni Invitational.

Overall they finished towards the middle of the pack with the boys coming in fourth place out of 11 and the girls in eighth out of ten.

Jordan Bringgold from St. Croix Central took the top spot out of 119 runners in the boys 5K race with a time of 17:28.3.

Six spots behind him was the first Bulldog to cross the line, Mitch Pustol who finished in seventh place with a time of 18:54.1.

Max Engel followed less than two minutes behind with a time of 20:11.1 for 16th place. Then it was Jack Kapsner in third for the team and 28th overall with a 20:52.4.

Running in fourth and 36th overall was Sam Retz with a 21:37.9. Then it was Caleb Hagen with a 22:51.8 for 52nd and Michael Chich was ten spots away in 62nd with a 24:14.5.

Freshman Rian Corr rounded out the team with a time of 24:39.8 for 64th.

There were a total of 88 girls that ran the 5K race and Emily Jaeger of Fall Creek led the way with a time of 21:42.2.

Leading the way for the young Lady Bulldogs team was freshman Shiann Wagner in 17th place overall with a time of 23:55.5.

Less than a minute behind her was fellow newbie Marissa Dormanen in 27th place with a time of 24:46.5.

Emma Harnisch ran 45th overall with a time of 27.01.4 and teammate Brooklyn Booth was right behind her with a time of 27:20.9.

Finishing out the rest of the team of seven runners was Satina Chilson in 52nd (28:08.1), Mariah Drury in 62nd (31:16.9) and Brianna Foer in 65th with a 33:03.0.

The Bulldogs also competed at the Boscobel High School on Saturday at the Ryan Zimpel Memorial Cross Country Course. Results will be available at a later date.
