Toppers finish 1-1 at New Auburn Triangular

NEW AUBURN – The Glenwood City Volleyball team participated in their first full games of the season last Tuesday, August 26 against New Auburn and Prairie Farm here at a Triangular. The Toppers finished 1-1 on the day.

Two matches were played against both teams and the Toppers beat New Auburn 25-5 and 25-9.

Mikaela Voeltz led the team in kills with three and McKenzie Kuehl, Becca Moll and Jenesa Klinger each had two. Hannah Ludtke also had a solo block kill.

Together, the team served at 93 percent with Ludtke leading the team in service aces with six.

Against Prairie Farm, the Toppers were unsuccessful, but they put up a decent fight. The local gals dropped both games by a 25-17 count.

Klinger and Voeltz each had two kills and Ludtke had two kills and a block kill as well. There were no aces, but the team did serve at 87 percent.

The Toppers had a week off of play and now they will be on the court again this Thursday, September 4 for a triangular at the St. Croix Central High School starting at 5:30 p.m.

They will then play again on Saturday (Sept. 6) in Spring Valley for a tournament that is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.
