Back to School in Glenwood City

GLENWOOD CITY – The first day of school is less than two weeks away, but the halls will be opening up to students and parents this next week, August 25-28.

All students in the high school and middle school will be able to stop into the office and receive their schedules, locker numbers, and pay their athletic or gym fees etc.

In previous years, the days were open according to class, but this year everyone is welcome all at once next Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and then on Wednesday the office will be open from 12:30-3:30 p.m.

In the elementary, there will be an open house on the first day of school (Sept. 2). As for high school and middle school students, that will be their actual first day of classes.

Also next week on Monday (Aug. 25), there will be a sixth grade orientation starting at 3:30 p.m. in the elementary/middle school gymnasium; this is not a required event.

The orientation will include an introduction to staff members and their classrooms. Students will be given their daily schedule and their locker. They will also be given their lock and combination to practice with.

An overview of the school handbook will be provided and time for questions and concerns will be given.

Students will also be allowed to place funds in their lunch accounts as well as pay any fees including a $10 physical education fee.
