Last year the team had 51 players with with eight seniors at the helm. They finished 3-6 overall with a 1-5 record in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference after losing to Colfax last October.
This year, the outcome looks to change as the Bulldogs appear to be a top contender in the conference.
“Our goal is to play as a team and win all three phases of the game- offense, defense and special teams,” said Roemhild. “As a team we want to play each game one at a time and improve our offense in the red zone and improve on getting our defense off the field on third downs. Never give up and never back down.”
Coach Roemhild kicked off his sixth season as head coach with a scrimmage against Clayton last Friday. He has a record of 25-24 with a playoff qualifying team in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
He takes to the field along side assistants Jamie Olson and Michael Roemhild.
The Bulldogs will play their first game this Friday, August 22 at home against Flambeau starting at 7:00 p.m. The following Friday they will host Lake Holcombe/Cornell.
Their first conference contest is schedule for Friday, September 5, which is another home game with Mondovi as the opponent.
