Glenwood City High School Salutatorian is Katelyn Meyers

GLENWOOD CITY- The Glenwood City Class of 2014 Salutatorian is Katelyn Meyers, daughter of Wade and DeAnna Meyers.

Katelyn has been busting herself for four years inside and outside of the classroom with years spent playing volleyball, basketball and track.

One of the most memorable moments that happened in Katelyn’s high school career actually revolved around a sporting event.

“My most memorable moment was the day we traveled down to Madison and we watched our football team win at state. Then coming home to see an entire town celebrating,” shared Katelyn.

Katelyn has expressed her interest in music through band with time spent on the Dunn-St. Croix Honors band and the UW-Eau Claire Honors Band.

In school, Katelyn has been involved in Science Olympiad, National Honors Society, G-Club and Student Council.

Katelyn was also active in the Glenwood City community as she was Miss Glenwood City her junior year in 2012-13.

In terms of curriculum, Katelyn shared that her favorite high school classes were Spanish, AP Calculus, Physics, Human Anatomy and then Band.

Her likes in certain courses has aided Katelyn in what she will do for her future after graduation at the end of May.

“I plan on attending Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and double majoring in Health Sciences and Psychology in hopes of someday becoming a family physician in a rural community,” Meyers explained.
