GLENWOOD CITY – Glenwood City seniors, Nick Mrdutt and Isaac Tuttle were selected to play in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star game on Saturday, July 19.
It has been four years now since a Hilltopper football player has been nominated for the game and that was Nick Schouten in 2010.
Mrdutt led the Hilltopper football team at quarterback this past fall, but he was chosen to play safety for the WFCA North Small team. As for Tuttle, he will resume his position on the field as running back.
Once selected, both players were expected to raise $750 in funds for the Children’s Hospital. Both went above and beyond as Mrdutt had raised over $3,000 and Tuttle over $1,000 by May 1.
The players are scheduled to arrive in Oshkosh on Sunday, July 13. They will then endure three-a-day practices in preparation for the North Small vs the South Small game.
Shane Strong, head coach for the Hilltoppers, will also be in attendance for the game as a coach for the North Small team.
The game is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 at the Titan Stadium in Oshkosh. It is to be broadcast on Time Warner Cable Sports 32 and simulcast on Charter Cable.
