Six Boyceville Band and choir students to perform on European Tour in 2014

Six Boyceville musicians are now Wisconsin’s Ambassadors of Music for the European Tour 2014. The students – Madison Bygd, Erica Sempf, Logan McAbee-Thomas, Maxwell Engel, Ireland McAbee-Thomas, and Lauren Klassen – were nominated based on their character and musicianship to the prestigious musical organization.

Six of the nominated students chose to accept this once in a lifetime opportunity. They will attend two camps in at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, perform a “send-off concert,” and then travel for sixteen days beginning on June 27th. The Band and Chour is made up of approximately 350 students from Wisconsin. The Ambassadors will travel to and perform in London, UK; Paris, France; Seefeld, Austria; Crans Montana, Switzerland; Rothenberg, Germany; Venice, Italy. The Ambassadors will also visit Montreau and Zermatt, Switzerland. They will visit many unforgettable destinations including the Eiffel Tour, Sacre Coure, Notre Dame, Saint Mark’s Basilica, the Matterhorn and the Louvre. 

Boyceville Band Director, Diane Vig, has been on the staff with the Wisconsin’s Ambassadors of Music since 2000. She has traveled and performed with the group on seven previous tours.
