This year’s Glenwood City Junior Prom will have a unique setting.
The 2014 Formal, scheduled for this Saturday, May 3, will be held aboard a river boat while it navigates the St. Croix River.
But parents, grandparents, and spectators shouldn’t fret. The Grand March and official coronation will be held in the Glenwood City High School’s gymnasium prior to the prom participants’ departure for the waterways of the St. Croix.
This year’s Junior Prom, entitled “The Masquerade Ball”, will begin at 4 p.m. with registration and line-up for the Grand March which will begin at 5 p.m. Once the Grand March is complete, the coronation of this year’s Prom king and queen will take place.
Participants will then board buses and leave for Stillwater, MN around 6 p.m. and should return to the school around 11:15 p.m.
The 2014 Prom Junior Court includes king and queen candidates Gabrielle Porter, Jennifer Kopacz, Alyssa Wannemacher, Nikki Gabbert, Hannah Steinberger, Jacob Hierlmeier, Todd Petersen, Tyler Woodruff, Bill Norenberg, and Marcus Kadinger; Master and Mistress of Ceremonies Kip Wallace and Mikaela Voeltz; and crown bearers Andrew Blaser and Harper Caress.
Kayla Hanson has served as this year’s Prom chairman. Mike and Jennifer Wannemacher are the Prom advisors.
