Rockpile – 2-19-2014

After two weekends of 9-Pin Tap Tournament play, Dennis O’Bryan is still leading the singles board with a 883 series while O’Bryan and Jessica Hager are still top dogs in the double action with 1843 series. Our tournament runs into the last week of April.

I’d like to recognize the fine sponsors who are supporting this annual tournament: Papa’s Bar and Grill, Forest; Shotgun Suzie’s, Emerald; The Pumphouse and Brother’s Mart, Downing; Peg’s Pleasant View, Wilson; M&M Bar, The Boondocks, The Fort, Glenwood City.  Thank you all very much!

Papa’s came out on top of the third quarter on Thursday Night Ladies League last week. They also won the best costume award for St. Valentine’s Day!!

Some nice split pickups this week: Roger Schug and Theresa Obermueller: 3-6-7-10; Bob Schug: 4-6-7-9-10; and Dean Anderson: 6-7-10.

Birdie with a yellow bill, hopped upon my window sill, cocked a shining eye and says: “What did you do with your tennis…..racket??”  Bee Boop!

Ole’s Farm

A government survey crew came to Ole’s farm one fall day and asked permission to enter his property. Ole agreed, and Lena even served them a nice meal at lunch time.

The next dpring, the crew returned and told Ole, “Because you were so kind to us, we wanted to give you this bad news in person instead of by letter.”

Ole replied, “What’s the bad news?”

The surveyors said, “Well, after reviewing our work here, we discovered that your farm is not in Minnesota but is actually in Wisconsin!”

Ole looked at Lena and replied to the surveyors, “That’s the best news I’ve heard in a long time. I just told Lena this morning that I don’t think I can take another winter in Minnesota.”
