No recount in Glenwood City

We were informed by City Clerk/Treasurer Sharon Rosenow that no candidate had filed for a recount of the city’s special election by the five p.m. December 20th deadline.

The recall election results indicated that incumbent Alderperson David Graese had won the election by two votes over Chris Schone and incumbent Nancy Hover had won by three votes over Barb Standaert while Mayor John Larson won with a 43 vote lead over challenger Ken Peterson.

Nomination papers are being circulated at the present time for those three seats plus the seat on the city council currently being held by Scott Schone for the April 1st election. Those papers are due at the city clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 7th.

According to the city clerk’s office, nomination papers have been taken out by Hover, Graese, Larson and Peterson for the April 1st election. All the terms are for two year terms.
