Judge Howard W. Cameron, who has served in St. Croix County Circuit Court for 5 years, will seek election to a second term in April 2014.
Since taking the bench in 2008, he has handled a variety of cases from juvenile delinquency to homicides. In 2011 instituted a foreclosure mediation program in St. Croix County. He also assists with the St. Croix County drug court and juvenile treatment court. He was elected to the Uniform Bond Committee at the Wisconsin Judicial Conference in 2009 and has served as chair the past year. The Bond Committee prepares a statewide uniform bail and bond schedule for misdemeanors and forfeitures. He is also a member of the nominating committee for standing committees of the Wisconsin Judicial Conference.
Prior to his election in 2008, he worked as a public defender attorney for 17 years and was a high school teacher for 6 years in Spooner, Wisconsin.
Cameron lives in the town of Hudson with his wife, Teresa, who recently retired after 36 years of teaching. They have one daughter, a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
