Glenhaven Auxiliary makes event changes

Our community has not levied taxes to support Glenhaven because it is a non-profit privately owned facility; with the pending completion of our newly constructed and remodeled facility, the need for the Glenhaven Auxiliary to be as actively involved and successful is more important than ever.

Hence, this has been a year of change for the Glenhaven Auxiliary. In an effort to work with the community and provide activities they will enjoy attending, we have added some events and made some changes to others. A Pie and Ice Cream Social for the Rustic Lore Days events on Sunday was quite successful, and will be continued next year.

Looking for other ways to recreate ourselves, the annual fall craft sale has been changed to a social hour event for relaxation, socialization, enjoying the company of friends, and making new friends. The first GLENHAVEN COFFEE BREAK AND BAKE SALE is scheduled for Friday, November 1, from 9:00 to 1:00 and Saturday, November 2, from 9:30-12:00. Our usual baked goods: breads, pies, fruit turnovers, cookies, candies, muffins, soup in a jar, jams and jellies, etc. will be available at the bake sale, but you can also enjoy any of these items with your coffee or tea in our “Glenhaven Café” atmosphere. Enjoy your coffee and then take home some delicious baked goods. Fresh items will be added on Saturday, so join your friends for both days. Invite a friend for coffee and enjoy some camaraderie, a fresh cup of coffee, and a homemade treat. Some craft items will be available.

The profits from our new activities will be used to help furnish the households in the new building with equipment and games and activities for the residents’ enjoyment.

Your support of our efforts is greatly appreciated by the residents and the Glenhaven Auxiliary. We take pride in our accomplishments.
