Glenhaven Auxiliary holds meeting

Our meeting was called to order by the President, Bonnie Cronk on October 8th at 9:30 a.m.

We discussed the pie social and decided to have it again next year for Rustic Lore Days. Karen S. and Linda S. will be the chairpersons.

Our spring luncheon is tentatively set for April 25, 2014.

The Care Tree lighting will be on December 1st. There will be music beginning at 3:30 followed by Jay Stoner. We’ll be selling tree lights at St. John the Baptist Christmas Bazaar on October 26th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those selling lights will be: 9 to 10 am Lorraine R.; 10 to 11 a.m. Dorothy M., 11 to 12 Dolly D. and 12 to 1 p.m. Lucille Obermueller. There will be a chicken and biscuit supper following the tree lighting.

On November 1 & 2 we’ll have our Coffee Break and Bake Sale. Motion by Linda S. and second by Dolly D. to have a poster contest for Coffee break, but decided to wait until next year because time is too short.

Neon posters will be made instead and an ad in the TPR for one week.

Auxiliary members will each bring two items for the bake sale. Have them at Glenhaven by 8 a.m. on Nov. 1st or 2nd if you can’t be there on the 1st. Those helping on Friday at 8:30 a.m. are Judy Knox, Jean Booth and Betty Jean Smith. On Saturday helpers are Dorothy Magnuson and Karen Stoner.

Judy Knox made a motion to give $1,500.00 for items and decorations for the new apartments being built.

The Oktoberfest is October 24th. Tickets are $20.00 in advance or $25 that evening.

Our next meeting will be on January 28th, 2014.
