Card of Thanks – Rustic Lore Committee – 9-18-2013
Rustic Lore Days 2013 is history! Even though we had unusually warm temperatures this year, the turnout for all the events was great.
We’d like to start out by saying thank you to our Grand Marshals, Ron & Donna Brettingen! We hope you had a memorable weekend!
Best wishes to the 2012-2013 Miss Glenwood City court – Queen Katelyn Myers, Princess Bailey Britton and Princess Kelly Perkins. Thank you for a fine job representing our community this past year. Congratulations to our new court – Miss Glenwood City 2013-2014 Isabella Nadeau, 1st Princess Kaitlin Konder and 2nd Princess Natasha Rassbach. You’ve got a full year of activities and fun ahead of you. Hope you enjoy every minute!
The Kick-Off Picnic has become the traditional start to the celebration, and we thank Jim & Jeanene Meisser for sponsoring it and all of the employees of the Hiawatha National Bank for your time and hard work. Also, thanks for your parade float! It’s always a fun addition to the parade.
Much gratitude to all the clubs and organizations who hosted each event throughout the weekend. It’s definitely a group effort to pull off such a big event, and you all get credit for doing your part. Thanks to all the workers – to the guys who hauled and set up tables and benches for the dances, to the people who sold tickets or bartended and helped clean up afterwards, to all the volunteers at the parade, etc., etc. ( you all know who you are!) – your time was extremely appreciated. Thanks to Lance Albrightson, Family Chirocare, for allowing us to use his electricity for the dances.
One person that needs to be recognized specifically is Ben DeGross. He does more than any of us realize. He deals with everything from re-routing traffic to garbage detail. We REALLY appreciate all that you do, Ben!
The sale of raffle tickets and buttons is a huge part of our celebration income, so thank you to all who supported Rustic Lore by purchasing them. We appreciate the businesses doing their part in buying/selling them. The queen candidates did a great job of selling this year – especially Queen Izzy, who set a new record in sales for any queen candidate ever. Lastly, thank you to YOU, the people of Glenwood City and surrounding locales, for your support and for patronizing all the events.
The committee always welcomes new members and new ideas. We’ll start planning the 2014 celebration in February. Let a committee member know if you’re interested in being a part of it. You will be welcomed!
