AFP-WI: Now is the Time for Tax Reform
MADISON — On May 29, Rep. Kooyenga released a tax reform plan that aims to cut income taxes by more than $750 million and simplify the tax code. AFP-Wisconsin State Director Luke Hilgemann released the following statement in support of the plan.
“This is exactly the type of bold reform that Wisconsin needs to continue to move forward,” said Hilgemann. “Now is the time to take advantage of the state surplus and cut taxes for the hard working families of Wisconsin. Legislators in Madison need to decide if they are they are on the side of limited government and lower taxes or if they support more spending and higher taxes. We need a simpler tax code that is fair for everyone and significantly cuts income taxes.
“We are urging legislators and especially the members of the Joint Finance Committee to support this plan and include it in the 2013-15 State Budget. We will be engaging our 125,000 activists in this fight, the people of Wisconsin want this plan passed. Wisconsin needs a tax cut and now is the time to get it done.”
