The final two runs for the Bulldogs crossed home plate after Leach hit an RBI single to score Lagerstrom in the fifth and then Jason Erickson scored on a balk after reaching first base on a single in the sixth.

0-2 vs Colfax

It was a different story to the ball game against the Colfax Vikings on Monday with the Bulldogs taking two to the chin with a 16-6 and 11-3 loss in the doubleheader.

The Vikings had a 5-1 lead going into the fifth inning of the first game before they blew up the batters box with six runs scored in the fifth for an even bigger lead of 11-3. They would finish with two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh.

The Bulldogs put runners across home plate in the third, fifth and sixth innings. Kuhn scored in the third on an RBI from Wathke. Leach and Wathke scored in the fifth on RBIs from Jon Erickson and Alex Lovett and then Kuhn was the final run in the sixth on a passed ball.

The bats fizzled out in the second game for the Bulldogs with their three runs coming from Kuhn and Anderson in the third inning and then from Anderson again in the fifth inning after stealing home.
