Bulldog tracksters finish towards the top in Fall Creek Invitational

FALL CREEK – The Boyceville track and field team competed in the Cricket Invite at the Fall Creek High School against seven other schools with the boys’ team taking second place and the girls’ team fifth.

The boys’ team had an excellent day with several finishes in the top two. In first place for the Bulldogs were Jacob McIntyre in the 800 m run (2:19.25), Mitchell Pustol in the 1600 m (5:05.72) and the 4×800 m relay team consisting of Tanner Johnson-Hetchler, Isaac Boyd, Dominic Olson and Ian Kane (9:08.68).

Finishing the day in second place were the 4×400 m relay team of Zach Klassen, Will Kraft, Dominic Olson and Isaac Boyd (3:49.89), Johnson-Hetchler in the 1600 m (5:11.37) and Klassen in the 300 m hurdles (44.91) and in the long jump (18’ 7”).

Finishing in the top two for the girls’ team was Katelyn Merten who had two second place finishes with one in the long jump (14’ 9”) and one that was a tie for second in the high jump against Regis’s Haley Gibbons, each with a jump of 4’ 10”. Also finishing in second was Alex Wold in the 100 m hurdles with a 19.93.

The Bulldogs competed Tuesday, May 7 at the Baldwin-Woodville High School and will be hosting their own invitational Thursday, May 9 at 4:00 p.m.
