Rockpile- 4-10-2013

We had another “900” series rolled this past weekend in our 9-pin No Tap Tournament. Terry Weiss from Baldwin bowled a 915 Saturday as he made the 900 Board along with five other bowlers.

 We have three more weekends left in our annual tournament event. Several leagues concluded last week with most of the other leagues winding up their bowling in the next couple of weeks. On the Sunday Nite Mixed Couples league, “Out-4-Fun” won both halves to win the championship. Their team is made up of Steve Bazille, Tauna Quinn, Bobby Hall and his wife Danielle. This team was the new kids on the block as it was their rookie year. Congratulations, kids!!

On the Wednesday Afternoon league, my Leaker’s crew took that championship. They consist of Brian Stevens, Sylvia Bonte, Lynn Dahl, Sherri Stevens and Audrey Maes. Super bowling team!!

This Week’s Momism: “You just wait till your father comes home!!”

Birdie with a yellow bill, hopped upon my window sill, cocked a shining eye and says: “What did you do after you ate the cream…puff??” Bee Boop!!

Cell Phone Etiquette

After a tiring day, a commuter settled down in her seat and closed her eyes.

As the train rolled out of the station, the guy sitting next to her pulled out his cell phone and started talking in a loud voice:

“Hi, sweetheart. It’s Eric. I’m on the train.”

“Yes, I know it’s the six thirty and not the four thirty, but I had a long meeting.”

“No, honey, not with that blonde from the account’s office. With the boss.”

“No, sweetheart, you’re the only one in my life. Yes, I’m sure, cross my heart.”

Fifteen minutes later, he was still talking loudly, when the young woman sitting next to him had enough and leaned over and said into the phone,

“Eric, turn that phone off and come back to bed.”

Eric doesn’t use his cell phone in public any longer.
