Pair of home games end in Bulldogs’ favor

After suffering a tough loss to conference contenders the Elk Mound Mounders, the Bulldogs bounced back and put the beat down on the Plum City Blue Devils and the Bruce Red Raiders.

The Bulldogs hosted the Raiders for a non-conference game last Friday evening where they came out with their second win of the season.
Michael Lagerstrom had another outstanding game as he was the leading scorer for the night with 23 points. He had five deuces, two triples and was seven for ten at the line.
Brady Schutts was not too far behind as he scored 18 points from two deuces, three triples and was five for six at the line.
Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Ryan Williams with 11 points, Jordan Kuhn had 10 points, Jake McIntyre had two points and Mitch Leach had a point.
The boys’ still have some work to do on the freethrow line as they made 16 out of 27 foul attempts.
All together it was a well played game on both sides of the ball. The Bulldogs controlled the lead throughout the entire game with the half time score at 39-36.
BV 55 vs PC 24
Both teams were evenly matched in the first quarter with the Bulldogs ahead 10-9. The pace quickly changed in the second quarter as the Bulldogs gained a 12 point lead to put the score at 29-17 going into the half.
The Blue Devils were not able to keep up with the Bulldogs in the second half of the game as the lead increased to 48-21.
The Bulldogs were explosive in both the second and third quarter as they scored 19 points in each.
The momentum faded in the fourth quarter as they only scored seven points, but they managed to hold the Blue Devils to three points.
“We were able to force their young team into several turnovers and we rebounded. Lagerstrom and Kuhn shot well from perimeter which opened up other scoring opportunities for us and I thought we played some very good aggressive defense. We played sloppy at times also which we need to clean up, but it was nice to get that first win of the year,” explained coach Jay Lagerstrom.
Lagerstrom was on fire as he led the game in points with a total of 21. He had five deuces, three triples and was two for four at the line.
Williams also played a good game at the net by getting his hands on rebounds. He scored 12 points for the team with four deuces and was four for six at the line.
Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Kuhn who drained three triples, Zach Klassen scored six points, McIntyre scored four points, Tyler Draeger scored two points and Schutts sunk a freethrow.
