In an early morning match-up the Hilltoppers met with the Potosi Chieftains at Camp Randall Stadium on the UW-Madison campus. The Toppers drew opening blood with 6:16 on the clock and a 2-yard rush by Adam Holmquist. They wouldn’t score again until the second quarter with an 8-yard rush by Tuttle leaving 1:49 on the clock.
Taking a break for the half, with a deficit of 12-14, the Topps came out of the locker room fired up and ready to play. Striking again to bring the score to 18-14 Toppers. GC went onto score two more TDs in the third bringing the score to 34-14 Topps.
In the fourth it was a TD by Kopacz that brought the game to a 40-21 lead by Glenwood. Tuttle scored the final points with the clock at 3:46 to seal the state title for the Hilltoppers, ending the game with a 46-21 victory. This is the third championship for Glenwood City.
