Glenwood City News – 10-17-2012
It was a nice sunny day, but the wind was sharp and cool.
Doris Teigen had a great celebration Saturday at Holy Cross. It was her birthday party, and now she is 90. People came from far and wide to join in the happy occasion. Birthday Blessings to you Doris.
Marie Berenschot visited me on Friday.
On Sunday afternoon, I accompanied Randy and Martha Schmidt to Skip and Sue Koosmann’s. They had a going away open house for their daughter Anna who leaves on Tuesday for the Philippines Islands where she will be teaching in the architectural field.
How grateful we are for the rain we had Saturday – it was much needed and it all soaked in. Saturday was also a Special Day to celebrate Doris Teigen’s 90th Birthday – what a great party. So many people, such good food and Doris, you looked lovely. Congratulations!
Sunday was another special day for the Teigen family. Doris’ great-grandson was baptized at Holy Cross’ 8:30 service, “Oslo Marvin”, and what a cutie! And the 3rd graders received their Bibles also – a delight to see the church so full and noisy!
We are so proud of our football teams – both high school and JV have done such a good job. Congratulations to the teams and their coaches. You do us proud!!
The residents of Glen Park Manor are so happy to have Helen Krizan back home, after breaking a hip, being in the hospital and rehab.
Thought for the Day
