COLFAX — A 42-year-old Bloomer man was arrested October 1 for retail theft after leaving Cedar Country Cooperative in Colfax without paying for his gasoline.

Michael J. Neurer also was charged with Operating After Revocation fourth offense and for non-registration of a motor vehicle, said Colfax Police Chief Pete Gehring.

Cedar Country Cooperative reported that a man had left without paying for gasoline, and in reviewing the cooperative’s security video, Chief Gehring said he recognized Neurer from previous contacts.

Chief Gehring contacted the Bloomer Police Department to hold Neurer and then subsequently arrested the man and transported him to the Dunn County jail.

Neurer was charged with retail theft in August of 2009 in relation to an incident at Kyle’s Market in Colfax and also was charged with Operating After Revocation, which was the result of an Operating While Intoxicated conviction, Chief Gehring said.

According to online court records, Neurer currently has cases pending in St. Croix County for bail jumping, OWI fifth offense, operating while revoked, and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration (PAC) fifth offense.

Neurer failed to appear for a court hearing in St. Croix County on October 10 and is scheduled to return on a warrant October 18.

Neurer is scheduled for an initial appearance in Dunn County Circuit Court on November 6.
