BOYCEVILLE – With school officially back in session, the Boyceville volleyball team hosted their final quad of the season with Glenwood City Hilltoppers, Amery Warriors and Osceola Chieftains.

The Bulldogs first game of the evening was against the Warriors. The girls struggled to put up blocks and the ball would fall over the net and to the floor.

The Warriors gained a quick lead over the Bulldogs until their attacks started to either go out of bounds or into the net.

The Bulldogs fought back to close the gap, but they were not able to win the first match as they lost 21-25.

The second match was all business for the Bulldogs. The attacks were strong at the net with April Lake acting as a machine putting up blocks and kills that went untouched by the Warriors.

The Warriors were no match for the Bulldogs in the second round as they were defeated 9-25. With the game tied 1-1, a tie breaker game to 15 would be played.

Again the attacks by the Bulldogs were strong at the net. With the score 14-8, Kysa Franseen had an ace serve to win the match 15-8.

Franseen led the team in attack attempts with 14. Alexa Peterson had 15 assists for the team against the Warriors.

The Bulldogs then went on to play the Hilltoppers and they continued their winning streak, beating the Toppers 25-15 and 25-16.

This was the first time the two teams have played each other so far this season.

Lake was the attack leader for the Bulldogs with 21 attempts. Franseen has three service aces against the Hilltoppers and Peterson had 18 assists.

The Bulldogs final game was against the Chieftains who posed as stiff competition for the girls who had just won four games straight.

The Bulldogs were able to squeeze out a win in both games, beating the Chieftains 25-23 and 26-24.

Emma Lorenz was the attack leader for the Bulldogs with 15 attempts. Franseen had two services aces and Peterson had eight assists.
