GLENWOOD CITY- Diane House has taken her letter of call to be the new pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
House and her husband, George, officially moved into the community the last weekend in July after she accepted the position as pastor in June.
“We are really excited to be here and we are really enjoying the Glenwood City community and look forward to meeting people,” shared House.
House was previously the pastor at Big Dry Wood Lutheran Church in Cadott for almost five years.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church is only the second calling that House has taken.
House decided to become a pastor and enroll in the Luther Seminary School in Minnesota after her daughters graduated high school.
I always felt the calling to be a pastor, but I had to wait until women were ordained into the church as pastors and that concept took some time to come to the midwest,” said House.
House also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
House and her husband both grew up in Eau Claire and raised their two daughters, Sarah and Erin there. Sarah and her husband Chuck have three children of their own.
In her spare time, House says she and George enjoy fishing and going to their cabin in Rice Lake. They are also involved in theater and George is currently performing in a show this month.
House will be installed in the Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Sunday, August 12..
