NEILLSVILLE — The Vikings’ football team wrapped up their three-game road trip with a 41-0 loss to Neillsville/Granton last Friday evening, September 6.
The Warriors wasted little time as they reached the end zone three times in the first quarter, all of which were rushing touchdowns for Neillsville/Granton.
The first touchdown of the evening came at 9:32 for the Warriors, followed by their second two and a half minutes later and the last was scored with eight seconds left in the first quarter.
Colfax would collect themselves in the second quarter as they held the Warriors to no points, but still struggled offensively to gain yards.
Noah Albricht was on duty as quarterback, but with 17 attempts he would connect with his target down field only seven times for a total of 44 yards.
Leading the Vikings on the run was senior Mitch Harmon. He attempted to make his way past the Warrior defense in 22 separate attempts for 46 yards.
Cole Kiekhafer also went on the run for Colfax with 31 yards in three attempts and had three receptions for 12 yards.
Also, getting in on the receiving yards was Ryan Albricht and Hunter Rebak. Albricht led the three receivers with 28 yards and Rebak had one catch for four yards.
The third quarter got underway and with six minutes ticked off the clock the Warriors scored their fourth touchdown of the evening and scored twice more within four minutes.
Once again, Neillsville/Granton was held scoreless by the Vikings’ defense in the fourth quarter.
Colfax will finally return home this Friday evening, September 13, for their first home game of the season when they host unbeaten Mondovi.
